In the method of measurement, the concrete (plain or reinforced) dimensions are measured nearest 0.01 except for the thickness of the slab, which will be nearest 0.005m.

General rules for measurement are:

All work shall be measured subjected to the following tolerance unless otherwise stated

1.  Dimension shall be measured to the nearest 0.01 m.
2. The area shall be worked out to the nearest 0.01 sq. m.
3. Cubic content shall be calculated to the nearest 0.01 cu.m.
4. Weight shall be worked out to the nearest 0.001 tonnes.
5. The thickness of the RCC slab shall be measured to the nearest 0.005 m.
6. The thickness of woodwork shall be measured to the nearest to 0.002 m.
7. The thickness of steel work shall be measured to the nearest 0.001 m.
8. The length of the steel reinforcement bar shall be measured to the nearest 0.005 m and its diameter to the nearest 0.0001 m.
9. The area shall be measured to the nearest 0.01 sq.m., but the area of steel shall be measured to the nearest 0.0001 cu.m.
10. Volume shall be measured to the nearest 0.01 cu.m. But the volume of wood shall be measured to the nearest 0.001 cu.m.
