Recession limb:- The recession limb indicates the storage contribution from surface storage (which includes both the surface detention and channel storage), interflow, and groundwater flow. Since the depletion of this detention storage takes place after the cessation of rainfall, the shape of the recession curve depends only on the basin characteristics and is independent of rainstorm characteristics.
