A generating station supplies the following loads 15000 kW, 12000 kW, 8500 kW, 6000 kW and 450kW. The station has a maximum demand of 22000kW. Calculate the diversity factor

The diversity factor is the ratio of the sum of the individual maximum demands of the loads to the maximum demand of the generating station.

The sum of the individual maximum demands of the loads is:

15000 kW + 12000 kW + 8500 kW + 6000 kW + 450 kW = 40,950 kW

Therefore, the diversity factor is:

diversity factor = (sum of individual maximum demands of the loads) / (maximum demand of the generating station) diversity factor = 40,950 kW / 22,000 kW diversity factor = 1.86
