According to IBR regulations, boilers exceeding a Capacity of more than 5 gallons need regular inspection and certification.

Indian Boiler Regulations:

• The Indian Boiler Regulations (IBR) were implemented on September 15, 1950, in response to the powers conferred by sections 28 and 29 of the Indian Boilers Act. It regulates the design, construction, installation, and operation of all steam-generating vessels that fall under its jurisdiction.
• Any closed vessel exceeding 25 liters or 5 gallons in a capacity that is used expressly for generating steam under pressure, including any mounting or other fitting attached to such vessel that is wholly or partly under pressure when the steam is shut off, is referred to as an IBR boiler.
• IBR is an independent organization that establishes and regulates boiler manufacturing guidelines in India. This law is accepted all over India except Jammu & Kashmir.
