When the rotor of a three-phase induction motor is blocked, the rotor speed (Nr) is equal to zero. Therefore, the slip of the motor can be calculated using the formula:

s = (Ns - Nr) / Ns

where Ns is the synchronous speed of the motor.

In this case, since the rotor is not moving, the numerator of the slip equation is simply equal to Ns. So we can write:

s = (Ns - 0) / Ns = Ns / Ns = 1

So the slip of the motor is equal to 1, or 100%, when the rotor is blocked.
