A 4 pole, 3 phase, 50 Hz induction motor runs at a speed of 1470 r.p.m. speed. Then the frequency of the induced e.m.f. in the rotor under this condition.

Using the formula for slip, we get:

s = (Ns - Nr) / Ns

where Ns is the synchronous speed in RPM and Nr is the rotor speed in RPM.

Given P = 4, f = 50 Hz, and N = 1470 RPM, we can calculate Ns as:

Ns = 120f/P = 120 x 50/4 = 1500 RPM

The slip s is then:

s = (Ns - Nr) / Ns = (1500 - 1470) / 1500 = 0.02

The frequency of the induced EMF in the rotor fr is given by:

fr = s x f = 0.02 x 50 = 1 Hz

Therefore, the frequency of the induced EMF in the rotor is 1 Hz.
